Travel info

Because the final program is not yet complete, the following is basic information so you can start to make travel arrangements. The conference will start on Wednesday, the 10th of June at 18.00 and will end on Friday, the 12th of June at 17.00. A more detailed program will be ready in early May.

When you arrive at the Helsinki airport, the best way to get to Jyväskylä is by train. The train trip takes approx. 3 and a half hours to Jyväskylä. The best and the quickest option is to take first a bus (bus number 61) from the airport to the Tikkurila train station and from there take the train to Jyväskylä. In this way you avoid first travelling to the Helsinki center which is in the wrong direction. You can buy your train ticket in advance from the railway company’s webpage (https://www.vr.fi/cs/vr/en/frontpage). If you like, just input your place of departure as Helsinki airport and your destination as Jyväskylä. In this way, you are also automatically buying the bus ticket from the airport to Tikkurila, so you do not have to buy a separate bus ticket. But if you think that is better to buy the train ticket from the train station, that is possible too. Then you should pay the bus ticket separately, the fee is around 3 euros. The information regarding the conference hotel is already on the conference website, but if you would like book a room in a different hotel, I recommend an online hotel booking service.

We look forward to seeing you in here in June!
